Open-ear headphones are not as popular currently as in-ear devices, but they do have a market, and even if they may not be for everyone, those who prefer this form factor still want the best possible audio quality and comfort, of course. When it comes to earbuds, the market is saturated with options. But if you’re looking for an affordable, open-ear design that doesn’t compromise on sound quality, then the TOZO Open Buds may be your perfect match. Thanks to TOZO for providing us with a pair to test it, and without further ado, let’s jump into our test findings and the review results.
(Not only) sports enthusiasts rejoice
The TOZO Open Buds offer an open-ear design with a biaxial rotation feature, making them highly adaptable to a variety of ear shapes and sizes. This means no more discomfort or constant readjusting. The flexible design ensures a snug fit and makes these buds a preferred choice for those who engage in sports or wear glasses but don’t like in-ear products. So whether you’re hitting the gym or just going about your day, the TOZO Open Buds promise a comfortable and secure fit.

Sound quality: A pleasant surprise
Despite their open-ear design, these earbuds deliver sound quality that is better than expected. Thanks to the 14.2mm dynamic driver, the sound delivery is crisp and clear, even though the device rests outside your ear canal. This goes to show that good things do come in small packages. Whether you’re listening to your favorite podcast or jamming to your workout playlist, the TOZO Open Buds won’t disappoint. Certainly, sound quality can be subjective, but I was very surprised about the results, but in a good way, especially when looking at the price point of this device.

Price and app functionality: Bang for your buck
Priced at $69.99, the TOZO Open Buds provide value for money. They come with an accompanying TOZO app with an ‘earprint’ function. This function allows you to customize your listening experience, enhancing the overall user experience after a hearing test that will do the configuration for you. However, it’s worth noting that the buds can also be used without the app without issues.
Charging case: A minor compromise
While testing, we found that the charging case felt slightly less robust compared to the TOZO Golden X1 counterpart, which we also tested not long ago. However, at this price point, it’s understandable that some compromises have to be made. It also lacks numeric displays to tell you about the battery states better. Despite this minor drawback, the case is still functional and works well.

In conclusion, the TOZO Open Buds are a solid choice if you’re in the market for affordable, open-ear earbuds. They offer a comfortable fit, great sound quality, and a user-friendly app, all for an affordable price. While the charging case may not feel as sturdy, it’s a small compromise for the overall package. So, if you’re ready to upgrade your listening experience without breaking the bank, the TOZO Open Buds might be what you’re looking for. Want to check out how the device looks and what’s in the box?
