I try my best to keep my workspace tidy, but if you need to use devices, there’s always another cord and cable, right? As our daily carry of high-performance devices grows, so does the clutter of power adapters fighting for space on our desks and in our travel bags. CUKTECH aims to solve this with a new lineup of GaN chargers that bring a unique twist to power management: built-in smart displays.

Recently, we went hands-on with two of their latest offerings, the powerhouse 30 Ultra desktop charging station and the highly portable 100W 4-port GaN wall charger. Far from being mere geeky gadgets for looks, our testing showed that these displays, combined with intelligent power distribution, offer a genuinely useful, real-time look into your device’s charging health.

CUKTECH 30 Ultra desktop charging station: A heavyweight desk declutterer

Built for demanding setups, the CUKTECH 30 Ultra is a massive 300W charging hub designed to streamline high-performance gaming, creative, and home office environments. The standout feature of this 5-port station is its dedicated DC output. Designed to completely replace bulky laptop power bricks, it includes DC tips that support major brands like Lenovo, HP, and Acer.

In our testing, running a laptop directly from this DC port worked flawlessly. The tips fit securely without any wobble, successfully eliminating the need for a traditional power brick on the desk. Beyond the DC port, the unit features dual 140W USB-C PD 3.1 fast charging.

When hooked up to multiple high-demand devices simultaneously, the 30 Ultra sustained the load without any thermal throttling. While the unit gets somewhat warm under heavy load, a normal byproduct of pushing hundreds of watts, it remained well within safe operating limits with no cause for concern.

Design and display practicality

The 30 Ultra is anchored by a magnetic adjustable base that provides a 10-degree viewing angle. In practice, the magnetic stability is sufficient for normal operation. It keeps the unit from falling over when nudged, though users should expect to hold the device when actively plugging or unplugging stiff cables.

The 1.83-inch IPS smart display is highly practical. It provides real-time monitoring of wattage, voltage, and current across all five ports. Crucially, the screen isn’t forced to be lit up all the time. It activates when needed and goes to sleep to avoid being a distraction in dark rooms. Furthermore, we observed no noticeable phantom power draw when the station was idle.

CUKTECH 100W GaN wall charger: Smart power on the go

For travel and tight spaces, the 100W 4-port GaN wall charger packs significant capability into a compact form. It shares the smart display philosophy of its larger sibling but focuses on extreme portability. During our tests, the sheer weight of the 100W block did not cause it to pull out of standard wall sockets, remaining secure throughout use.

Power distribution is seamless. When plugging a new device into the active hub, the charger handled the power renegotiation without noticeable drops or interruptions to already connected devices. The internal chip continuously monitors real-time demand and distributes capacity automatically.

One excellent design choice is the manual display rotation. By holding the touch button for two seconds, users can rotate the screen 90 degrees. This ensures the display is always readable regardless of how the plug is oriented in a crowded power strip or awkward wall socket.

The practical benefits of GaN technology

Both of these new chargers utilize advanced GaN technology, which stands for Gallium Nitride. This material offers significant real-world advantages over traditional silicon chargers that consumers have used for years.

  • Superior thermal management: GaN runs significantly cooler, which is why the 300W station does not overheat or throttle under extreme loads.

  • Compact form factors: Because it manages heat so efficiently, internal components can be packed closer together, resulting in the incredibly slim size of the 100W wall charger.

  • Maximum efficiency: It transfers power more efficiently from the wall to your device, meaning less energy is wasted as heat during the charging process.

Pricing and availability

The CUKTECH 30 Ultra desktop charging station is available now on Amazon for $159.99. The CUKTECH 100W wall charger is available for $59.99. Both have their own features and interesting aspects, and if you can’t decide, you might as well get both. Prices might change in the future, and you might even grab them at a promotional rate if you are lucky.

Whether you need to declutter a high-performance workspace or ensure optimal charging on the road, these smart chargers provide transparent, reliable power management. The inclusion of cables and tips in the box makes them a complete, out-of-the-box solution for modern power needs.
