When Clay Meets Anime [Video]

The other day we talked about all the new features that Unreal Engine 5 would introduce to video game development, but you don’t necessarily need a computer to model a character. There are also artists who use clay to build lovely sculptures and figures. Of course, those can be very detailed on a large scale but when a clay artist is working on small figures, including details becomes a much more challenging activity in the creation process.

In the video we want to share with you today, you can watch clay artist Shirakawa Kotoha from the Kotoha Modeling channel working on a new piece of art. In this particular video, you can watch him work on every step of designing this figure which is a model of Daki from the Manga and Anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. It starts at preparing a wireframe and the diverse parts of the body are then modeled and assembled on the frame. Are you impressed yet? If you enjoy this kind of art, you can also check out more of their work on YouTube, Instagram, or Twitter.
