Valve Is Doing Yet Another Steam Deck Giveaway

-

If you haven’t heard of the Steam Deck yet, imagine a far superior version of the Nintendo Switch where you can play pretty much any PC game available on Steam. This includes AAA games like God of War, Elden Ring, and more. You can play these games on the go and even add your own emulated games to the library.

Some have ranked the Steam Deck as one of the top hardware releases for 2022, which has established its worth by offering PC gaming on the road. Valve decided to provide a second giveaway to those who registered for The Game Awards, so more people will have a chance to win the console.

Giveaway during The Game Awards

One of the largest gaming events is The Game Awards which happens annually. Because of its size, the event set new records for viewership, with 103 million people watching the ceremony. This makes it the perfect event for people to participate in the Steam Deck giveaway.

The lucky participants won a Steam Deck only recently, with names picked out every 60 seconds during the opening minutes of the event. This means that a total of 150 consoles were given away. To be eligible to win, all the contestants had to do was register and watch the show.

Apparently, Valve was so blown away by the response to the first giveaway of Steam Decks, they’ve decided to do another round for those that want to try again. The participants do not have to do anything, because Valve has picked more names from those registered for The Game Awards. They announced last month that 171 more lucky participants had won a console. Winners were notified via email.

If you were one of the lucky participants who won a Steam Deck, congratulations. Otherwise, here’s to hoping that there’s another giveaway in the future.
