Valve is set to launch its Steam Deck on February 25th this year. The Steam Deck is an all-in-one portable PC gaming solution that will allow gamers to play their favorite Steam games anywhere they go. This device is perfect for those who love to game on the go, as it comes with a built-in controller and a variety of ports that allow you to connect your devices. The Steam Deck also comes with a Steam Link, which will give you access to your Steam library from any device. With this handheld gaming PC, you’ll never have to miss out on your favorite PC games again. Pre-orders for the product are now open.
The Valve Steam Deck is a console but also a PC
Valve’s Steam Deck is an interesting solution for gamers who love to game on the go or relaxed on the couch. This all-in-one device comes with a built-in controller and a variety of ports that allow you to connect your devices. The product also comes with a Steam Link, which will give you access to your Steam library from any device.

The Steam Deck has received mixed reactions from the gaming community. Some people are excited about it, while others think that Valve could have done better. I’m curious to see how well this device does in the market and whether or not Valve decides to make any more revisions to it. While previous Valve products, apart from their classic PC offering, have not managed to disrupt the gaming console much, it might be that a combination of a design resembling the Sony PlayStation Vita with the cloud and PC-gaming capabilities might be an interesting product for a large group of gamers.
Steam Deck will launch in February
Only a few hours ago, Valve stated in a news post, “On February 25th, we will be sending out the first batch of order emails to reservation holders. Customers will have three days (72 hours) from receipt of their order email to make their purchase before their reservation is released to the next person in the queue. The first units will be on their way to customers starting the 28th, and we plan to release new order email batches on a weekly cadence.”

We don’t have a press review unit, but the embargo is also planned for the 25h, so you’ll not hear from any gamers, streamers, influencers, journalists, or analysts about how they like the product before that day. The Steam Deck has a 7″ touchscreen, trackpads, and gyrosensors, allowing for more ways to game rather than just using the classic controller sticks and buttons. Pricing for the Steam Deck starts at $399.
For me, the feature of using the Steam Deck simply as a Windows PC and the ability to connect it to a keyboard, mouse, and external PC display (or TV) is also something that makes it a lot more functional and versatile than “just another handheld gaming console.” It’s objectively not comparable with the Nintendo Switch, but it will undoubtedly attempt to get some market share from Nintendo there. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Steam Deck will disrupt the gaming market.
