Now, what’s a horror movie or a scary game without all these ambient sounds that make us shiver with suspense? They would be by far not as enjoyable as they are with proper sound engineering and a suspenseful soundtrack.
Believe it or not, many of these scary noises and sounds are not made with a computer. Of course, you could also create a bunch of eerie sound files on a computer without problems but there is a certain level of romance if you record the noises of actual “instruments” for this purpose.
Here are my three favorite devices used to generate eerie sounds and give us the heebie-jeebies. Enjoy!
