LG Electronics (LG) is shaking up the art world with its innovative LG OLED ART project, which features the fusion of art and technology. The project has helped influential artists to showcase their work at top galleries and renowned art events worldwide. At Frieze London 2022, one of the world’s most influential contemporary art fairs, LG announced it was working with Germany’s Tobias Rehberger.
Tobias Rehberger is a German artist whose visually powerful works challenge people’s long-held perceptions of art. For LG OLED ART, he has created a series of pieces that explore the possibilities of combining art and technology.
Onto the OLED and into the maze
For LG OLED ART, Tobias Rehberger has created a series of pieces that explore the possibilities of combining art and technology. One such work is the OLED-powered project “Into the Maze”. This interactive installation invites visitors to wander through a neon light and mirrors labyrinth. As they explore, their reflections change and distort, creating ever-changing visual illusions.
LG SIGNATURE OLED R provides the perfect canvas for this type of artwork, as its ultra-thin profile and infinite contrast ratio allow for stunningly realistic images. With its ability to seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment, LG SIGNATURE OLED R creates an experience that is rarely seen. Samsung previously used the Frieze New York event in 2017 to showcase their “The Frame” display.
The company also showcases its 65- and 77-inch OLED evo models at Frieze London. Here, the OLED evo models express moving patterns that match the interior’s wallpaper to create truly captivating experiences so that viewers can feel the dynamic energy from every artwork displayed. Boasting outstanding contrast, deep blacks, brilliant colors, and a flush-to-wall design, OLED evo displays bring an extra dimension to art installations that make the viewing experience feel more real and immersive.
