A couple of months ago, we tested the first version of the AENO Premium Eco Smart Heater. While there was little to complain about, it’s great to see that they were open to feedback and improved their solution even more. In this follow-up test and review, we had the chance to check the new version of AENO’s Premium Smart LED Heater, and we are happy to share the findings and verdict with you today. Thanks also to AENO for providing us with a test unit for this review article.
Testing the new version of the AENO Premium Smart LED Heater
Since AENO’s Premium Smart LED Heater is more than just another iteration of a previous product, we’ll also look at the solution holistically so we can assess its strengths, weaknesses, and what problems it is trying to solve. It’s also fair to say that we only compare this heater with other heaters powered by electricity, and it does not make sense to compare it with heating systems that are powered or fuelled differently.

What’s so “eco” about this heater?
On that note, it’s worth noting that this heater is as environmentally friendly as the power mix you get from your selectivity provider. If you’re running entirely on a fully sustainable power mix, then operating this heater is certainly environmentally friendly. However, if your power mix comes from coal power plants or other sources that might not be considered sustainable, then heating with this device is not environmentally friendly. This is not up to the manufacturer, obviously.

We can, however, credit AENO with the fact that they created the Premium Smart LED Heater to consume less electricity for heating than many other smart heaters. It is not uncommon for other smart heaters to work with about 2,000 W, but the “eco” in the product name is no joke. Their goal for the product is to run at around 700 W only and get the same results for heating spaces. If you don’t have a smart meter installed in your house, you can also use the AENO app to check your consumption data or set up a schedule to save power in a smart way.
What are the key features to look out for?
The AENO Premium Smart LED Heater is a modern heating solution that combines design, functionality, and user control. The heater’s ultra-thin tempered glass panel presents an invisible design that can either become the main attraction in a room or blend seamlessly into any interior. It offers installation flexibility, allowing users to place it on the floor or mount it on the wall, depending on their preference.
Control options are varied, catering to different user preferences. The heater can be operated remotely via a mobile application, voice assistants, or a digital display and setting buttons. One of its unique features is the “SMART Mode,” which ensures energy efficiency by maintaining a comfortable temperature without unnecessary power consumption. Once the room reaches the set temperature, the heater automatically switches off, saving electricity while keeping the space warm without that annoying red-cheeks feeling you get from some traditional heaters.

Safety and health considerations are integral to the Premium Smart LED Heater. It has safety features such as a child lock, overheat protection, and a tip-over/fall-down sensor that turns the heater off if it falls and sends a notification to the user’s mobile application. How about allergies and the like? Unlike traditional heaters that blow air, this device doesn’t circulate pollen or dust, making it a suitable choice for individuals with allergies and families with children and pets.
The test findings in a nutshell
The AENO Premium Smart LED Heater is packaged in an environmentally friendly way, reflecting the brand’s commitment to sustainability. The package includes all necessary parts to support a variety of installation methods, including wall mounting. This enhances the product’s versatility and convenience for different user preferences. The setup process is notably quick and easy, with the heater ready to operate within a minute of unboxing.

The design of the heater is simple yet elegant, making it a suitable addition to a wide range of interior styles. This simplicity extends to its connectivity options. Users can easily connect the heater to a dedicated app, but for those not comfortable with smart home technology, the device also features a new physical panel that offers an equally user-friendly experience. The new physical control panel allows everyone, even people who don’t like to use apps or don’t want to turn their home “smart,” to use the AENO Premium Smart LED Heater without excluding non-techies or people who prefer pressing a button. The previous version only had a button to be switched on and off, but there was no way to adjust the temperature or mode without the app.
The app provides a range of additional features to enhance the user experience. Users can schedule heating times and access other functions via the app. It also provides energy consumption statistics, offering users insight into their usage patterns and potentially helping them manage their energy use more effectively. One minor limitation noted is the lack of wheels on the heater, which would have increased its portability. However, this is not seen as a significant issue, given the overall functionality and design of the product. Beyond that, if you mount it to the wall, this becomes irrelevant anyway.
