Cloud gaming offers flexibility and convenience for gamers of all sorts. Recently, Microsoft teamed up with Amazon to bring the latest Xbox titles to selected Fire TV devices via cloud gaming. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can now enjoy endless gaming on their Amazon Fire TV through the Xbox app from the comfort of their couch. The app is compatible with Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) and Fire TV Stick 4K (2023).
Playing via Fire TV devices
The availability of Xbox Gaming in the aforementioned Fire TV devices provides no-fuss access to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Library while being light on the pocket. For gamers on the go, cloud gaming may be a reliable alternative to console gaming when on the move or using any other device. However, it does have its challenges, such as lags and the need for a good internet connection, which isn’t necessarily available everywhere.
For those unfamiliar with it, the Fire TV Stick is a device similar to a Google Chromecast, which allows users to stream their media. With Xbox Gaming becoming available on the Fire TV Stick, users only need a good internet connection and a game controller. Your saved progress in your favorite game travels with you.
Getting started
Users must download the Xbox Gaming app from the Amazon App Store on any compatible Fire TV device. They must complete the installation process and open the app to sign in with their Microsoft account. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can enjoy a wide variety of titles from the Game Pass Ultimate library. Otherwise, users must buy the membership to maximize their gaming experience.
Now, all gamers need is a compatible Bluetooth-enabled controller from the vast Xbox Game Pass Ultimate game library to play their favorite game. Some popular Game Pass Ultimate Library titles include games like Starfield and Fallout 4, as well as high-octane racers like Forza Horizon 5.

With Xbox Gaming available on the Fire TV sticks, gamers with Game Pass Ultimate can still play without a console. Microsoft is also planning to add more devices to the list of cloud gaming gadgets. For those who want to try it out, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is currently priced at $59.99, while the Fire TV Stick 4K is currently priced at $49.99.
How all of this sits with Amazon’s own cloud gaming service, “Luna,” was not mentioned in any part of the press releases of either company, leaving room for interpretation.
