Wear It and Flair Fashion have partnered to introduce an AI-powered fashion experience at London Fashion Week, held at the historic Waldorf Hilton Hotel from September 12-18, 2024. This collaboration brings a futuristic twist to the runway, allowing attendees to try on designer outfits virtually in real-time. This novel approach marks an interesting shift in how fashion is experienced and shared, blending technology with tradition.
Wear It’s AI try-on technology
The heart of this innovation lies in Wear It‘s AI technology. The system uses computer vision and generative AI to create realistic images of users wearing different outfits. Upon entering the venue, guests can take a headshot and instantly see themselves in designer looks. This technology personalizes the fashion show experience and supports sustainable fashion by reducing the need for physical samples.

Wear It co-founder and CEO, Kitty Yeung, who we previously reported about, regarding a different venture, now shares with TechAcute during an interview, “I’m excited to be showcasing Wear It AI via this interactive experience. Having been designing tech-fashion myself, I know how hard it is for independent designers to bring their visions to reality, which incurs large amounts of upfront costs in inventory and marketing. Now we can let people wear our designs immediately and focus on what we love doing – creating visuals with whatever process and techniques we prefer, should they be traditional crafting, 3D simulated, or AI-generated.”

The AI try-on feature offers numerous benefits to both designers and attendees. Designers can showcase their collections without extensive inventory while attendees enjoy a personalized and interactive experience. The technology captures the nuances of body shape, skin tone, and facial likeness, ensuring each individual’s accurate and flattering representation.
Interactive fashion show highlights

The show stands out with its unique interactive elements. Attendees can engage with digital fashion experiences and explore runway collections through virtual reality. This innovative format includes four shows throughout the day, featuring solo and collective presentations. Notable designers like ZHAOYI will showcase their work, providing a diverse range of styles for fashion enthusiasts to explore.

The AI try-on experience is designed to be user-friendly, guiding attendees step-by-step through the process. After capturing their image, guests receive a printed photo as a keepsake from the event. This personalized touch enhances the overall experience, allowing participants to take home a piece of the fashion week magic.
