Are the TOZO Open EarRing any good? Headphones have become essential items whether working at a desk, studying in a library, or commuting. With a wide range of products available, like over-ear, on-ear, in-ear, or ear-hook designs, it can be challenging to find the right fit. Ear shapes vary from person to person, and headphones that feel comfortable for one user might be uncomfortable for another. As someone who wears glasses, I’ve continuously searched for the most comfortable headphones.

Over-ear models often deliver excellent sound quality and effectively block out ambient noise. Still, due to the pressure between the earpiece and the glasses arms, they can become uncomfortable or even painful for glasses wearers over time. Ear-hook headphones solve this issue but might not stay in place as securely as in-ear or over-ear designs during physical activities. There always seems to be a trade-off. The TOZO Open EarRing, however, introduces a unique approach with its innovative clip-on design, combining comfort and functionality in a new way.
Thoughts after testing the TOZO Open EarRing headphones
Thanks to TOZO for sending us a press unit so we could do a proper long-term test of this solution and create this review for you all. The TOZO Open EarRing headphones and their charging case are lightweight, compact, and perfect for on-the-go use. They come in three color options: black, khaki, and pink, with a minimalist and stylish appearance that easily pairs with different outfits. Unlike bulkier over-ear headphones, the Open EarRing has a more understated design. The charging case features a built-in LED digital display, showing the real-time battery status, ensuring you always know when to recharge.
Tech Specs
On the official pages from TOZO, they claim the following specs:
- Type: Open-ear headphones (clip-on design)
- Driver Size: 12mm dynamic driver
- Frequency Response: 20 Hz to 20 kHz
- Bluetooth Version: 5.0
- Battery Life: Up to 10 hours (earbuds) plus an additional 30 hours via charging case (total up to 40 hours)
- Charging Time: Approximately 1.5 hours for earbuds, 2 hours for the charging case
- Charging Port: USB-C
- Water Resistance: IPX5 (sweat and splash resistant)
- Weight: 5.1 grams per earbud
Initially, I was skeptical about whether the headphones would stay securely in place. However, they fit firmly on the ears, even during intense head movements. This makes them particularly suitable for outdoor activities or vigorous exercises. The TOZO Open EarRing uses memory steel wire and high-resilience, skin-friendly silicone materials, ensuring a secure fit and long-lasting comfort.

The pairing process with a smartphone or laptop is both quick and straightforward. With Bluetooth, the headphones offer fast and stable connections. I was impressed by the range, as I once forgot my phone upstairs and could still listen to music in the basement without interruptions when using the headphones at home.
Battery, resistance, and sound quality
TOZO claims a playback time of up to 40 hours with a fully charged case, including 10 hours of use from the earbuds themselves and an additional 30 hours provided by the charging case. While my experience showed slightly shorter battery life, the quick recharging process more than compensated. A short time in the charging case ensures the headphones are ready to use again, comfortably meeting daily needs.
With an IPX5 rating, the TOZO Open EarRing is resistant to sweat and splashes, making it ideal for workouts or outdoor activities. The secure fit also ensures reliable performance during physical activities or less-than-ideal weather conditions.

The TOZO app adds to the experience by offering customization options for EQ settings, allowing users to choose modes based on their music preferences. The headphones deliver solid sound quality with clear highs, detailed mids, and decent bass. Due to the open design, some environmental noises remain audible, enhancing outdoor safety. However, this also means the headphones do not provide complete noise isolation.
All good and no cons?
Touch controls allow users to execute commands such as skipping tracks, playing or pausing music, and activating voice assistants. While convenient, there is a slight delay of around one second before the commands take effect, which might take some time getting used to.

One downside of the open-ear design is its minimal noise isolation. Music can be audible to nearby people at higher volumes, which may not be ideal in quiet environments or if you don’t want others on the commute to hear what you are listening to.
Are the TOZO Open EarRing headphones worth it?
The TOZO Open EarRing may not compete with traditional over-ear or in-ear headphones regarding sound quality. However, these headphones excel by providing a practical and balanced solution for users prioritizing comfort, especially those who wear glasses. They are a good daily audio companion with solid sound performance, a lightweight build, and tailored usability. As of writing this article, the TOZO Open EarRing is available on Amazon for $29.99 for the black variant and $33.99 for all other color options. This affordable price makes them a good value for money solution with a ratio that’s hard to beat and a no-brainer for all who wear glasses.
