-

Small robots have been around for a while, being declared as toy. The Toyota Kirobo Mini (website in Japanese) however seems to make use of latest technology, tapping into artificial intelligence and machine learning along with a series of sensors, to aid him behave like a living, thinking being. On a first look I loved what the concept movie suggests and hope the little guy will be available for sale internationally soon. Here’s how Toyota describes the functions of the Kirobo Mini robot:

What Kirobo Mini can do…
  • Engage in casual conversation, backed by gestures and the ability to respond to user emotions
  • Grow and provide tailored companionship by remembering user preferences and past events
  • Be taken just about anywhere, with its fit-in-the-palm size and seated height of only 10cm
  • Enhance its conversational ability using information from the vehicle and home
