San Francisco – June 1, 2016: Salesforce, one of the leading CRM solution providers has announced, that they intend to acquire Demandware, provider of enterprise cloud commerce solutions, for $2.8b.
They plan to complete the acquisition during second quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2017. By that time they will then be able to integrate Demandware’s cloud commerce solution into the Salesforce Customer Success Platform.
The core offering of Demandware is a scalable, flexible ecommerce solution delivered through the cloud. They support the natural growth of their customers and help accelerate same by reducing technological maintenance effort to a minimum. As per promotional video of Demandware, their customers report a composite ROI of 139%.
This change will also very likely to be beneficial for the strategy of Demandware. With the backbone and resources of Salesforce they will be in a much better position to compete with rivals such as BigCommerce, Shopify and Volusion.
