How Robots Can Help Disaster Management [Video]

-

Robots are usually designed and built in order to help humans. Usually this help is based on doing labor work so that it does not have to be done by a human, like in factory work. Some robots however are built to help humans differently. There are robots that are send out after disasters to help out.

The Origami robot was one of these that we previously reported on in detail. In this TED Talk Robin Murphy, Disaster Roboticist, talks about such robots that can help with disaster management and relief operations and other similar cases of environmental problems. This is a very interesting subject and a very good example on how technology can help real-life problems.
