PlayStation 5 Announced with Range of Next-Gen Games

-

Sony announced their next gaming console, the PlayStation 5, set to release later this year. The announcement revealed the design and models of the PlayStation 5 and its new DualSense controllers. The PlayStation 5 will come in 2 models, the base model and the digital edition, with the latter not having any disc trays and therefore will only serve as a console for games bought on from the PlayStation Store.

Sony had previously announced their new DualSense controllers for the PlayStation 5 with some cool new features such as a haptic feedback system and an integrated mic. The design for both the console and the controller has changed from its all-black predecessors and features a more futuristic black and white body.

As expected, the console will also bring in a wide array of new games and triple-A titles as well as remasters. Let’s take a look at a few upcoming titles to look forward to.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a new release set to fit the PS5’s hardware. While it was speculated to be a sequel to Insomniac’s critically acclaimed Spider-Man, it is instead going to be a remaster with some changes and added content to suit the new title. Sony’s and Insomniac’s communication around whether or not this will be a stand-alone game has been not that clear but as of now, it appears to be a DLC or extension.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7, another title that racing fans look forward to with the release of each PlayStation console, was also announced for the PS5. Although no specific release dates were announced, the new haptic feedback controllers will suit the racing sim nicely.

Horizon Forbidden West

Another visually stunning title that players can be eager to look forward to was the story-based open-world game by Aloy, Horizon Forbidden West. A game where players will play a warrior from the future fighting robot dinosaurs. Safe to say, this is a new game to interest many players and keep them entertained.

Grand Theft Auto V

Rockstar Games has announced a new and enhanced version of their game, Grand Theft Auto V. This announcement set back a lot of people’s speculations for the franchise as there hasn’t been any announcement of GTA 6 or new titles at all.

GhostWire: Tokyo

A game that many players have been looking forward to since its announcement at E3 2019 by Ikumi Nakamura, is GhostWire: Tokyo. A game set in the city of Tokyo that has been depopulated by a series of paranormal events and ravage spirits that are hunting down the survivors, the game has everything we can expect from a Japanese horror-themed game.

PS5 Render

Other titles set to be released for the PS5 include sequels to triple-A titles such as Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Quarantine, Dying Light 2, Last Of Us 2 and many more. The new PlayStation 5 will hit around the end of the year, and gamers can look forward to playing many amazing, entertaining, and jaw-dropping games.
