Those who work in a corporate setting know there are tried-and-tested tools still being used today. One of them is PowerPoint, which helps employees create presentations for stakeholders.

If you’ve ever tried creating a proper PowerPoint presentation for your organization, you know it’s not as simple as it sounds. Having the information about the product or subject is easy but formatting it together while making the presentation professional is a different ballgame. Apart from the immense time and effort in creating the presentation, you’ll need to pull up brand-compliant assets.

Fabian Willebrand and Stephan Kuhnert understand that most employees don’t know how to utilize Microsoft Office to its fullest potential, such as PowerPoint. This is where their empower add-in for PowerPoint comes in.

Add-in for professional slides

Much like the suite of apps that Microsoft has, empower is a company that provides solutions specifically for Office programs. One of these programs that the company focuses on is PowerPoint.

Presentations are critical for businesses to provide information to customers but making them can be time-consuming, especially for employees who don’t have the brand assets readily available. With the empower add-in for PowerPoint, it provides a single library of all the brand-compliant assets an employee needs such as color schemes and templates. New versions of the assets are also updated on the library, eliminating the need for users to format each slide manually.

Another function that the empower add-in provides for PowerPoint is the agenda wizard. For professional presentations, it’s important to have an agenda laid out at the beginning. While it sounds like an easy slide to create, it also sets the expectation of the viewers on how the flow of the presentation. More often than not, users end up rearranging their agenda to improve the flow. However, this also means rearranging multiple slides and possibly getting everything out of order. The agenda wizard helps users avoid that by providing an editable table of contents. If a section is moved from one location to another, the slides under it move as well, making it easier to rearrange areas within the presentation without doing it manually.

Other functions are available on the add-in such as creating brand-compliant charts by simply copy-pasting the data and clicking on the desired template. Overall, the empower add-in is helpful, especially for those creating corporate presentations. The tool is available for $11.99 per user for those with smaller teams. Bigger organizations will need to reach out for a proper quotation. If this seems like it’s not a good match you should also have a look at Power-user, an add-in solution that can support you with PowerPoint, but also with Excel and Word.
