Crushing It on Social Media with Gary Vaynerchuk

-

What is the most significant factor you can think of when it comes to becoming a great entrepreneur? Is it profit? Is it how big your business is booming? Or maybe it’s how fast the return on investment hits your account? All of these may be true, but one of the biggest ones is influence. Knowing you’re a great entrepreneur is being influential to others.

This will undoubtedly be a great factor not only to your business concerning finance but also to the message you are trying to implore on your customers. So it all starts with influence, but in our digital age, we have to step up our game on how to influence people. Now, it’s all through the use of social media, and to cover that I found an excellent read for you.

We crushed it now we are crushing it

Today we want to talk about the latest work of Gary Vaynerchuk, an entrepreneur himself, who you might remember from the bestseller Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World. A few months back, he has released a book called Crushing It!: How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence and How You Can Too.

Now, speaking as a young adult, this is seriously a good read for me and to anyone else. It really talks explicitly about establishing a personal online brand. I can’t stress this enough, and the book also focuses on it a lot. It contains stories and experiences from other entrepreneurs and how they founded their businesses in the most unexpected place you can think of: Social Media.

Staying yourself on social media, documenting your own journey with a strategy

It also discusses seven principles that matter when creating your social media content: authenticity, passion, patience, hard work, attention, speed, and intent. These being elaborated were really eye openers for me. Although it does talk about creating content, it also stresses on how you should keep your content as “you” as possible by just documenting your journey. There’s a difference between creating and documenting and both have their purpose.

And of course, it widely explains to you each social media site and what you can within it. These are namely Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and spoken-word media (i.e., podcasts). Each site is clearly described to show their strengths and differences from each other for you to see which suits your intent right. Or maybe just incorporate all of them into your business.

You can get Crushing It! on Amazon for about $20 currently. It’s rated with five stars by more than 400 reviewers. You can also check out his 2009 book Crush It! that talks about making money on your passion. I’d love to hear what you think about this book in the comments below.
