Square Enix and Luminos Productions revealed a new “Worlds Collide” showcase trailer for their debut title, Forspoken. Join Frey Holland as she traverses the sprawling and corrupted landscapes of Athia.
The Forspoken trailer gives a sneak-peak into an unfamiliar realm, which seems to be beautiful yet deadly, filled with exotic enemies with magical powers. Fight against an unstoppable plague, known as “Break”, that corrupts everything that dares come in its path. And yes, there will be dragons too.

Character and gameplay
Frey, the protagonist, is suddenly transported into this doomed world, and she must rise to the challenge to save the people of Athia. Players are given a closer look into the magical abilities Frey holds, which includes “Storm dart”, which enables players to emit electrical energy during battles, along with the ability to command water barriers with her “Eagre” move. The Forsaken trailer also showcases her fast-paced parkour and combat abilities, as she fights all the fearsome brutes in intense confrontations.
The game, although not directly inspired, seems a lot like the modern version of Elden Ring, the newly released and critically acclaimed game from “From Software”. However, Forspoken‘s world seems much more colorful and vibrant, with highly detailed environments and enemy types that range from terrifying druids to monsters with magical tentacles. From the looks of it, the world of Athia will have rich lore and an interesting storyline integrated into the game with meticulous attention to detail by Luminos Productions.

Designed with the PS5 in mind, Forspoken will harness the full power of the console, while also demonstrating Luminos Productions’ philosophy to provide a unique gaming experience and fusing all the latest technologies with their creativity. The game will launch simultaneously for both PS5 and PC on October 11, 2022, and is available for pre-order right now. Following the game’s launch there will also be a DLC called “Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust” which will be available in spring 2023.
