For a while I feel the need to always carry one or more battery packs with me, to make sure I can keep my over-used smartphone charged for as long it’s needed. I know I could get it very likely through the day if I rarely used it, but the reality is I and many others use their phones a lot.
Ok, so we have a steady demand in the market and it’s not yet holistically addressed by the manufacturers. What do we do? We keep using portable battery packs to charge the phones whenever we need it. One thing though is wrong. I just dislike the cables taking up space in my bag or even in my pockets.
On a recent flight, I spotted the Cavoletto Wrap, in the duty-free product catalog, which addressed this. The company Kyte & Key thought of a way to combine fashion design with a practical function and now sells charging cables, with either Lightning or USB versions, in the shape of a bracelet. I thought the design is rather manly or at least unisex but you may check out their portfolio on your own and have a look at the designs and see if you like them enough to buy one. There are currently 8 different designs of “cabelets”.
I thought the design is rather manly or at least unisex, but you may check out their portfolio on your own to have a look at the designs and see if you like them enough to buy one. There are currently 8 different designs of cabelets. The price of a cabelet currently ranges from $99 to $149, promoting them from tech gadget budget to the pricing of jewelry and fashion accessories.
They also have charging cables which are not meant to be worn and yet have a special design to them, making sure you stand out from the crowd if you care about that. The charging cables are available for $79. If you’re in for the full package you should also check out their charging wallets coming with a 3050 mAh, Li-Ion Battery for two models priced at either $99 or $149.
This is a cool product with a nice design, but its function and pricing make it a must-have product only for a particular group of people, who feel the need to always have a cable ready and who like convenient, smart and fashionable solutions. If you looking for another solution which is only compact, you should also have a look at the Nomad Chargecard.
