When it comes to the world of high-performance laptops, ASUS is a brand that never ceases to amaze. Whether it be ergonomics, design or raw power, ASUS laptops have always been at a class of their own and are commonly compared with high spec PCs.
The ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo is another notebook that took the world by storm. ASUS takes secondary screen implementation and puts their own spin to it. The outcome is a sleek powerhouse that fits the ASUS Zenbook line.

Seeing double screens
ASUS has learned a lot from its line of ROG laptops. They’ve realized that a way to enhance performance into a laptop is to have more room for air flow. For this to happen, the ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo flexes a bit upward when you opened it up, giving the laptop more room to breathe.
This additional ventilation allows them to pack an 8-core HK series processor and an Intel Core i9 CPU with an NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU into a shockingly compact device. This design also prevents the laptop from facing thermal throttling issues which were reported in previous Zenbook Pro laptops. Aside from that, it comes with a turbo cooling system that can be manually toggled with a hotkey to further prevent this issue.
The laptop’s main screen has a 15.6-inch 4K OLED HDR touch display. Meanwhile, the second screen is an eye-catching 4K 3840×1100 panel that also has touch functionalities. This allows for a higher color contrast, and the LCD on the secondary display prevents reflection of the two screens from each other.
Moreover, it also comes with a stylus for added functionality with the touch-screen display. This is specially helpful for artists in sketching or drawing out their ideas in a precise way.

Users can drag windows from the main screen down to the secondary screen, allowing greater multitasking functionality. This also allows up to 3 additional windows to run in the background.
Unique design
Certain sacrifices had to be made for this second screen to be fitted on to the Zenbook Pro Duo. The entire keyboard is moved down just like ASUS’ ROG Zephyrus. While the ergonomics are subject to preference, this was done to improve thermals and to accommodate the second screen. The trackpad has also been shifted to the right-hand side which may be hard to get used to for users of traditional notebooks. However, it does double as a numeric pad which can be tapped on or off as you need it.

The laptop definitely packs quite a lot, and the secondary display along with the ergonomic design is definitely one that captures a user’s attention. ASUS boasts that the Zenbook Pro Duo is the “laptop of tomorrow”. With an innovative design like this one, they might be right. This design is definitely a step in the right direction from ASUS in upgrading and renovating the interactive touch bar design that was implemented by other brands like Apple.
They have mastered the art of perfecting a design that is available in the market and improving upon it exponentially. The laptop is available in two configurations: the Zenbook Duo and the Zenbook Pro Duo priced at $2,499 and $2,999 respectively.
