Toronto-based X-Matik is the startup that claims to offer the world’s first add-on kit to backfit your car into a self-driving vehicle with autopilot. Their solution is called LaneCruise and in the video below you can see their second version of this kit with video footage they uploaded to their YouTube channel.
The test drive here is done with a Honda Civic, but apparently, it fits many kinds of cars. The LaneCruise kit from X-Matik comes with various hardware that you can then install on your own vehicle. The box includes a brake pedal, gas pedal, wheel controller, BrainBox, Cameras and a GUI. The kits are currently sold out, but if you want to be notified of the product’s availability, you can subscribe to their news alerts on their website.
