Unihertz has been making rugged smartphones to cater to users that typically do physically demanding activities such as hiking or rock climbing. ranks among leading companies in making impressive launches. Now they’re back with a new 5G smartphone that takes their usual, rugged design to the next level with a sub-screen located at the back of the phone — the TickTock.

Screens on the front and back
Like previous smartphones from Unihertz, the TickTock is meant to be solid and sturdy enough to overcome a bad fall, reducing any user’s fear of breaking their phone. However, what is interesting about this smartphone is how it sets up its dual-screen.
Instead of a folding screen, the TickTock has its second screen at the back of the phone. While one can put in a clock face as default and choose any design they want, users can also choose to put in a photo and even answer phone calls with the second screen. Naturally, users can also access unseen and recent notifications with this feature.
It’s also nice to note that the TickTock comes with a 48MP rear camera, something users can definitely utilize with the help of the secondary screen. Now, selfies can come up much clearer.
Other notable features
Apart from the back screen, TickTock has other features in store. Marketed as a rugged phone, it’s no surprise that the phone is dust-proof. It is also water-resistant, surviving 30 minutes under 1.5mm of water and having built-in moisture detection.

The TickTock is also 5G-compatible which is a must-need feature as we move towards the future of connectivity. However, it also has infrared capabilities, a feature that’s almost non-existent in the likes of Apple or Samsung. It also has a 6000MAh battery with a 30W fast charger.
As of the moment, Unihertz has had a successful campaign of TickTock through Kickstarter and is estimated to ship out on April 2022.
