Good news for all MMORPG fans: The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is starting from today available without monthly subscription to be payed in order to play.
We had some great reception on our original ESO article and thought many of you might enjoy this rather unusual news. From now on you may roam from and explore Tamriel in your own pace and don’t need to bother about that money getting burned in case you are a casual or semi-casual video gamer.
The whole game content including the six larger content updates will be available to you without much restrictions. It is to be expected that there might be some freemium content to be bought in digital shops though possibly to visually upgrade your character similar to how we know “free-to-play” MMORPGs such as Star Wars – The Old Republic. That means that there will be also a premium membership with benefits if you pay for them, but those benefits will not make it harder for non-subscribers to compete.

If you previously bought the game and already own a character you only need to start the launcher client and let it finish the updating process and you can pick up your story just where you left off. If you never player ESO before you only need to do the initial game purchase and can play without the monthly payments that it originally required when the game launched.
If you are a fan of the series but never tried it before you should certainly reconsider this. Now is a good time to check ESO out on PC and MAC for 59.99$. For all you Playstation 4 and Xbox One gamers it is said, that there will be a console release for ESO at the same price on the 9th June 2015.
