SwitchBot Curtain: Automating Your Curtains

-

Wonder Tech Lab’s latest edition to the SwitchBot family—SwitchBot Curtain—promises to turn any of your existing rod or rail curtains into an entirely motorized and smart one. The SwitchBot Curtain is a miniature device that is affordable, easy to install and ultimately gives you full control over how your curtains function.

There are many reasons as to why the SwitchBot Curtain has been proven to be so popular. Let’s get through them one by one.

SwitchBot Curtain

Cost-effective alternative

The SwitchBot works with your pre-existing curtain and there are no major installments required for it to work.

Energy saving

This device has a built-in sunlight sensor. Through the app, it can be programmed to work when it senses the sunlight. This means that even without your input, the SwitchBot Curtain can operate to let in the sun to warm up your room or close your curtains if you wish to cool down your room and keep the sunlight out.

Improve sleeping habits

Speaking of the SwitchBot Curtain’s built-in sunlight sensor, you can utilize this device to improve your sleeping habits. This can be done by setting the SwitchBot Curtain to wake you up as soon as the sun rises. If you don’t wish to be woken at sunrise but still wish to gently awaken with sunlight, you can set a designated time for the SwitchBot to open your curtains.

SwitchBot Curtain

Anti-theft

Keep predators away from your house with the SwitchBot Curtain. Since this device can be controlled through its respective app, you can open or close your curtains whenever, where ever—simulating to others that you’re home, even when you’re not.

Assists

Most importantly, the SwitchBot Curtain exists to assist you. This device is perfect for those difficult-to-handle high-ceiling curtains and works to help the elderly or those living with a physical disability. Pulling curtains back and forth may be simple, but it can also be an incredible challenge for those who are not physically able to.

You can still manually open the curtains yourself while the SwitchBot Curtain is installed with the ‘touch and go’ feature. Once activated, the device will sense the motion and complete the desired action for you.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Attach the SmartBot Curtain to the rod or railing of your curtain.

Wonder Tech Lab ensures that their smart device works with all curtains that utilize a rod railing, a U-railing, or an I-railing. The SmartBot Curtain comes with different hooks that suit your current curtain system. Just make sure to select the one your system requires during your purchase.

The installation involves a simple hook or click, depending on your system, and should take no longer than 30 seconds before it is ready to function.

2. Download the SwitchBot app which is available for Android and iOS.

3. Select how you’d like to control your curtain in the app.

You can also connect the device to your smart home system, and control it by your voice via your Alexa, Google Home, Siri or SwitchBot Hub Mini.

Kickstarter success and its availability

The SwitchBot Curtain began as a Kickstarter project, and thankfully they have managed to outstandingly achieve their initial pledged goal of $20,000. Moreover, they were able to raise $678,835 thanks to their pledgers.

Now that SwitchBot’s latest device has proven to be successful and useful, it is currently retailing for $75, and you can pre-order your very own SwitchBot Curtain here. This device comes in two functional colors, black and white.
