It’s been some time since Star Wars fans could fly their own fighters in games like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron and sequels. Yesterday EA gave gamers what many yearned for. A new Star Wars title that would focus on dogfights and battles executed with space fighters and other ships. Next to new VR features, for fans of the dark side, it gets even better – you may now also play as a pilot of the empire. The new game is called Star Wars: Squadrons and it will be available on October 2, 2020.
Thoughts from the makers
Ian Frazier, Creative Director at Motive Studios said “We created this game for every Star Wars fan who has ever dreamt about soaring across the galaxy in their favorite starfighter,” […] “Through the collaboration of the teams at Motive and Lucasfilm, we’ve been able to create a high-fidelity starfighter experience with an authentic storyline that invites Star Wars fans to explore never-before-seen corners of the galaxy in their own ship. We’re excited to show all this in action this week at EA Play Live.”
