Smaller Wearable Tech with Smart Rings

Do you know what a smart ring is? We’ve all heard of smartwatches and smart speakers, but a smart ring is not an item that you hear about on a regular basis. It simply connects to your phone via Bluetooth and allows you to receive notifications from your phone while it is connected.

Sure you may not be able to type out a text message or an email with a smart ring, but there are some with audio capabilities which you can use to handle your messaging if needed. It all depends on what features are available.

Put a smart ring on it

Smart rings are relatively new tech in terms of still trying to gain traction. Despite its somewhat infant stages in breaking into mainstream market, it definitely has interesting features in its otherwise small package.

One example is the Motiv Ring which is proving to be one of the best smart rings this year. Like most wearable devices, its main function deals with monitoring heath. It’s able to track your fitness, sleep, and heart rate, not to mention that it’s waterproof up to 165 feet. It’s also compatible with both Android and iOS.

The Motiv Ring is pretty minimalist as far as features go, but it does the job well. It has 7 ring sizes to choose from with silver, black, and rose gold as its colors. This smart ring also retails at $199.99 with free shipping in the US and a 1-year warranty.

Another is the JAKCOM R3 smart ring which has been rated highly as well for 2019. You’ll find though that it has more features than the Motiv Ring. Aside from having a health module, JAKCOM boasts that the ring itself has health beneficial properties because of its Germanium material. This also helps with those who have sensitive skin.

The R3 can simulate IC cards and ID cards as well as edit and receive information. It also has NFC capabilities plus it’s waterproof and dust-proof. Did I mention that you don’t need to charge this too? With this much features in it, you’ll be surprised that the price tag on this starts at $21.99. However, it only comes in 4 sizes. It’s compatible for Android, iOS, and Windows.

Some things to consider

These are just two of the top-rated smart rings out there but, just like any other item, you’ll have to shop around for what fits you. They may not be the new big craze yet, but there’s a demand for them that’s growing slowly but surely.

If you are looking for something small and stylish, you can now opt to shop for a smart ring. I bet you will find one that meets your needs and looks great on your hand while doing so.

  1. ..Jakcom R3 is just a ring with a NFC tag in it. Not compatible with payments, or any other useful NFC applications. Motiv is a full-blown smart device, with a circuit board, battery, sensors, and components that do things.

Next version of Motiv is rumored to include payment-enabled NFC.
