Daedelic Entertainment and Mimimi Productions bring us a stealth game that focuses on planning the perfect assassination approach against your enemies. As obvious as it is in the title, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is all about tactics.
Tactical gameplay
The game is set in a beautiful recreation of Japan loosely based during the Edo period. Control a squad of up to 5 assassins with their own styles. Their names are Hayato, Yuki, Mugen, Aiko, and Takuma. Each character has a different personality, needing to fight their own demons while trying their best to work as a team. Use their unique skills and your own wits together to overcome challenges.
You’ll have to use these 5 characters simultaneously to complete your objective. You decide how to infiltrate different the landscapes and infrastructures of the game, ranging from snowy mountains to small forest camps. Whether you set traps or avoid the enemies altogether is all up to you.

I think Shadow Tactics did an amazing job in terms of game design. The environment the game has set the stage for an immersive gameplay. Aside from the recreation of Edo Japan, the sound design was really well-made. The sound makes for a huge factor in any stealth game and they definitely nailed it.
Originally released on PC, this #1 Steam game also got released to consoles. With more than 25 hours of challenging gameplay, this will surely have you at the edge of your seat. The game is available as a digital download on both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Games Store for $49.99. You can also give the demo a try which consists of the first map and a preview of the second.
So what do you think about the game? Have you tried it out for yourself? I’d love to hear what you think in the comments below.
