Meet Scotty Allen, who left Silicon Valley for the adventure of travel and doing his own thing. In this video he presents how he hunts down parts at the Huaqiangbei market for electronic parts in Shenzhen, China, trying to build his own iPhone 6s with these parts. Buying the right parts, he paid about $300 and spent 2 months with research, procurement, and assembly.
Great to see someone actually do what everybody is talking about when they complain about too expensive smartphones from that brand with the fruit on the back. Kudos to Scotty for doing this and sharing his experience. If you want to know more, make sure to also read his article about this on the Strange Parts website. Enjoy!
