Scan Food Labels with the Soosee App and Check the Ingredients

-

It’s well known that the relationship between humans and food has changed throughout the centuries. Historical events, cultural facts, and even scientific discoveries have modified how we relate to food; what we eat, how we cook, and how our body absorbs it is different from before.

Along with that, today’s technology has advanced so much that there is mostly an app for everything. You can find multiple apps on improving your health and overall lifestyle, from workout routines, sleep trackers, and even mental health tips. Of course, that includes food apps as well. While our ancestors hunted for food to feed their families, now you can simply order any kind of dish you want to be delivered right on your doorstep in less than an hour.

This new way of eating has had consequences on our diet, making us more likely to consume food that has less nutritional value to us. This high consumption of non-quality food can directly affect our body and general health, especially for those who have certain allergies. It was hard to find an app that not only makes a difference in what we eat but also makes our life easier trying to figure out the ingredients in each food. Luckily, there’s Soosee, an app that scans ingredient labels instantly to warn you about ingredients you want to avoid.

Scanning food instantly

From chemicals to natural ingredients, Soosee can tell you if a certain undesirable ingredient is present in the food you’re scanning. It includes more than 30 categories for common allergies. It can also be customized to fit your needs, from a vegan lifestyle, pregnancy, environmentally-friendly, health-conscious, and more.

When you download Soosee, it comes with a list of ingredients you can select for the system to warn you about when you scan food labels. The list has a wide range of items like nuts and vegetables, but in case the ingredient you can’t consume is not in there, you can simply add them to the list.

After that, all you need to do is point your camera at an ingredient list, and the words you have enabled in Soosee are highlighted instantly. This can be incredibly useful, especially when you’re out on a grocery run and need to check on certain food items. It can also work even when offline, so you don’t need to worry about staying connected all the time.

Aside from that, Soosee can also help translate the ingredients list if you’re traveling elsewhere. For now, the app can translate Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Hungarian, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, Lithuanian, Slovenian, Turkish, Czech, and Danish. The app is also available for Android and iOS. Use the links to download or search for “Soosee – Allergy & Vegan Food Scanner.”
