Last year, Revopoint 3D made a Kickstarter campaign for the POP 3D scanner, which, by the tail end of November 2021, turned out to be the most funded 3D scanner project on the website. Now, the company is back again with an upgraded version, the POP 2.
The upgraded features to the Revopoint POP 2 include “higher precision, smoother operation, better color effect,” and much more to provide a professional 3D scanned output without the steep price tag.

POP 2 means 3D scanning with ease
With the Revopoint POP 2’s proprietary micro projecting chip as well as the upgrades on its projector and IR cameras, it ensures that the 3D scanning process has an “accuracy of up to 0.1mm and a 3D point cloud data of 0.15mm.” The 3D scanner also has a high-precision scanning mode and texture scanning mode to generate a color-accurate representation of the model.
The upgrade to the Revopoint POP 2 enables a scanning rate of 10 frames and also includes an embedded 6 Dof Gyroscope. This helps the 3D scanner to have more accuracy in spatial positioning, reduce stitching errors, and more.
The 3D scanner also has global exposure RGB sensors, enabling it to create a more vivid 3D model. With this on hand, the Revopoint POP 2 can directly generate models for creators and other fields that make use of capabilities such as 3D animation and color 3D printing for AR and VR.
What’s more, the Revopoint POP 2 doesn’t need a turntable to do a 3D scan effectively. The device itself is made to be handheld. This makes it easy, convenient, and friendly to use.

Revopoint 3D hardware quality
Traditional 3D scanning hardware requires having to deal with wires which can prove to be quite bothersome. With Revopoint POP 2, you don’t need to worry about this problem. In fact, there’s only wire available for this device, and that’s for either charging it or directly connecting it to your smartphone or laptop for streamlining the 3D scanning process.
Apart from that, the 3D scanner is also weightless, handy, and compact, making it easy to bring, especially for users who are constantly moving. And, speaking of charging, the Revopoint POP 2 does not require an AC power supply. It has power-saving technology and a 5000mA power bank to boot.
The Revopoint POP 2 recently had a successful campaign on Kickstarter. However, if you still want to try and catch this, pre-ordering is now available on the company’s website. As of this writing, it has a 10% off on the standard package, bringing the price down from $933 to $840.
