3D Innovative Technology is a company based in Italy that’s geared towards 3D printing for the food sector. In 2017, they presented their product, Cino Printer, at Host Milano which uses food ink to 3D print on beverages. They’ve made improvements to their machine since then. In 2021, the company completed its research and development of Robot Coffee and touted it as the first coffee machine that can create customized images.

They also released a new model called Cino Printer Coffee X that printed faster in a higher resolution. It also had an integrated camera for instant selfies. In 2023, the company released Cino Printer Go, an evolution of the previous models that allows coffee lovers to have a portable coffee printer. This new product can print in different colors like brown, orange, and red. Aside from offering the same options as previous printers, its printable dimension is at 2.5 cm to 12 cm. You can print something written or drawn by hand, or choose from a gallery of forms, symbols, and emoji.
Why a coffee printer?
With the catchphrase “Print every side of your life”, Cino Printer was created to bring innovation to places like coffee shops, restaurants, and even events. It’s a way to creatively help businesses market their brand. With the technology, users can print a range of images from customized logos to instant selfies in different colors with edible ink. This doesn’t just work on coffee. Users can print on beer, biscuits, or yogurt, but there’s a catch: the surface must be flat.
Customizing the drinks seems pretty easy. Users can use the accompanying app of the product, send an image to the printer, and place their drink. The company says that the original Cino Printer takes a maximum of 35 seconds while the Cino Printer Coffee X takes only 10-15 seconds. The printers can connect to WiFi to receive images. The Cino Printer Coffee X and Robot Coffee can also let users take a selfie with its integrated camera. The devices also offer a higher resolution on the prints.
