Like coffee? Well, there aren’t many who don’t, or who at least don’t need it to help them become functional human beings in the morning. For most of us, turning on that espresso machine is the first thing we do when we wake up.
At work, we depend on that sweet caffeine machine to get us going through the day. But what happens when you can’t get to it, or it’s not that good? If you plan ahead, you’ll make extra coffee and bring it with you, but it just won’t have that same feeling like the one you just made and started sipping.
You no longer have to worry, because a Hong Kong-based startup company Wacaco has developed a unique mini portable espresso machine called Minipresso NS. Amazing, you say? Yes, but how does it work?
Operating the Minipresso NS
It’s very simple and intuitive to operate, actually. Minipresso NS uses Nespresso capsules or any other compatible capsules to prepare that delicious caffeine fix. The coffee is ground, measured, tamped, all this with higher precision than what us humans are capable of doing. The process itself is more convenient, tidier, and the machine is easier to clean after use.
Minipresso NS allows you to make up to 1.52 oz (45 ml) of coffee wherever you are. Just put any compatible capsule into the outlet head, add hot water into the water tank, unlock the piston from its travel position and pump a few times to pressurize and extract the espresso.

Minipresso NS characteristics
Minipresso NS is very small, with just 175 mm or 6.89 inches in length and is light as a feather, weighing only 350 g or 0.78 lbs so you can take it with you wherever you go.
No need for hard pressing, as the optimal extraction pressure (8 bar or 116 psi) is achieved after just a few pushes. An additional advantage is that this sweet little machine doesn’t require compressed air, N2O cartridges or electricity for its operation.
How much does this mini portable pleasure cost?
Minipresso NS comes with a $49.90 price tag, and this price can get you one Minipresso NS machine, a cleaning brush, and a built-in espresso cup. If you want to enhance your Minipresso experience with additional accessories, there’s Minipresso Tank+ available for $24.90, which allows you to prepare a larger amount of espresso, and a Nano-Mini Case for just $24.90, specially designed to fit the Minipresso NS like a glove, as well as other Minipresso products – Minipresso GR and Minipresso CA.
