-

Logitech_G_vert_BlackNewark, US / Lausanne, Switzerland, March 28, 2018 — To complete their Logitech G PRO series for gaming, Logitech has now announced their new latest gaming headset. Fortunately its name is not hard to learn. You can call it ‘PRO Gaming Headset’.

The new headset has a classy black design, almost exotic is the mostly colorful world of gaming peripherals and works not only with PC but also with the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and VR kits.

The pricing suggests that they want to offer the PRO Gaming Headset to professionals but also want to keep it affordable for gaming enthusiasts. The new headset is planned to be sold for $89.99 and will be available starting in April 2018.

When you buy via the official Logitech store, you’ll also get free delivery, as it’s an order with more than $49 total value. That will at least include the standard shipping that takes about 4-7 business days, or you’ll have to pay extra for the express option.

Opinions from Logitech and from esports players

“As a leading gaming gear manufacturer, we develop what esport professionals, players, and enthusiasts are looking for,” said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of Logitech Gaming. “The PRO headset was developed in close collaboration with TSM, G2 Esports, and London Spitfire players. Our design includes features such as a tournament-grade mic and comfortable leatherette for the perfect headset for esports and pro gamers.”

“The sound quality of the new Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset is unmatched,” said Ji-Hyeok “Birdring” Kim, London Spitfire (Overwatch). “The headset raises our team’s level of play by allowing us to hear key in-game audio that helps us stay a step ahead of our opponents.”

“The first thing that comes to mind, when I wear this headset, is the noise isolation. It’s so good that I can focus 100 percent on the game,” said Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, G2 Esports (CS:GO).

“It’s really comfortable because it is just a nice clean design. And the mic quality is very good,” said Mike Yeung, TSM (LOL).

Astro innards?

Update 30th of March: We asked Stephan Floyd from Logitech G whether or not the new Logitech G PRO Gaming Headset was built in cooperation with the recently acquired Astro Gaming or if it had been planned for a long time. He confirmed, on Twitter, that it’s not related to Astro Gaming technology and was built entirely to complete the Logitech G PRO Gaming set.
