LG Unveils New K8 and K10 Versions at MWC

Seoul, South Korea, February 22 — LG plans to introduce you to the 2018 editions of their K8 and K10 smartphones at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, which starts next week, at the 26th of February.

New cam and colors

The updated versions are provided with improved cameras and more colors to choose from, including Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue, and Terra Gold. The price of the new unit has not been disclosed in the press release, but it could be considered somewhat more expensive than the previous editions of the LG K8 and K10. For instance, quick web research showed the average selling point of the K8 to be about $100.

Another difference is that the Android version it’s shipped with will be 7.1.2 Nougat opposed to the older version which was often sent with Android 6.x Marshmallow. From my point of view, it’s unclear why the K10 battery had to be embedded while the K8 is removable. This is usually a clear advantage of buying a smartphone in this price segmentation.
