There is a lot of controversy around whether or not technology is making us dumber or not. Can you still remember your phone number? The phone number of your spouse? Your favorite 10 friends? Everybody? That is very unlikely nowadays. Simply because you don’t need to recall these numbers. It’s not relevant in modern culture and therefore we discard it from our brain.
Personally I think the use of technology and furthermore maintaining this technology increases our smarts and intelligence, but is likely to reduce wisdom and information in general, which we previously stores in our memory.
