Huawei-Logo-Large-High-Quality-OfficialChinese ICT major Huawei extends cooperation contract with Ooredoo, Internet service provider from Qatar, for another 5 years. Next to several enterprise collaboration solutions, Huawei is primarily known for Android OS based consumer electronics like smartphones and tablets. Ooredoo has recently been awarded with the achievement “most innovative company” of the year 2015 in the MEA region and the extended agreement should be beneficial to both parties.

Engagement Details

The partnership between Huawei and Ooredoo leads to more streamlined means of facilitating business and running technology to offer services to their clients. That way especially Ooredoo can now pilot new offerings in a fast pace. In this industry the “time-to-market” is more and more not a goodie but a necessity in order to remain competitive. The ICT market is growing in demand and the technological requirements are growing just as much. They cannot rest on a single good year and need to find innovative new products and deliver continuously.

“Our industry is changing faster than ever before, and we are evolving to capture these new opportunities and stay ahead of the curve. By expanding our relationship with industry leaders like Huawei, we are confident that Ooredoo can continue to offer a better customer experience, strengthen our foundations, and continue to launch new and innovative services that enrich people’s lives.”
– H.E Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, Group CEO, Ooredoo

Huawei has already been working together with Ooredoo for many years. Together they pushed out milestone projects such as the Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH) broadband network within Qatar, collaborating to deliver the fastest deployment of national fibre in the world.

More recently Ooredoo worked with Huawei in countries like Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Tunisia, Myanmar, Maldives and Indonesia to offer high quality mobile broadband services.

“Huawei welcomes a future of connected possibilities and openly cooperates with industry partners in more than 170 countries worldwide to build a better connected world. Huawei and Ooredoo have had the privilege to do this together for many years. We now look forward to renewing our partnerships around the globe, which can enable more people to participate in and benefit from technological innovation.”
