The creators of the Rock Band video game franchise, Harmonix, are back with another music game. But this time, the new music game is all about mashing songs together. The new game is called Fuser, and the company describes it as “a nonstop virtual music festival where you control the music.” Including some of the most popular songs these days from artists like Billie Eilish and Post Malone, Harmonix, and NCSOFT plan to deliver the ultimate music gaming experience in 2020.
“Fuser” Explained
Fuser is a video game that shows a nonstop virtual music festival where players are in control of the music. In the game, players are the ones who have to combine elements of the world’s most popular songs to create their collaborations and playlists. Besides, players will be able to share their mixes, and headlining performances with the world, and the performances will be available for watching online. Developed by Harmonix and published by NCSOFT, Fuser is planned to be released in the fall of 2020. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
According to Harmonix, more than 100 popular songs will be included in the game at first. Attendees at PAX East in Boston were the first to try the demo version of Fuser. Also, attendees at EGX Rezzed in London will have the chance to try this game. Fuser will include songs from various genres, including hip-hop, R&B, pop, rock, country, Latin, and Caribbean styles. This innovative music game will allow players to blend vocals, bass lines, and other instrumentation seamlessly. As Harmonix said, players will be able to “define their unique sound through seamless, innovative gameplay.”

The CEO of Harmonix, Steve Janiak, said that these days, music is an experience, not just listening to songs and albums. As he stated, music is recording and sharing videos of people singing their favorite songs, watching their favorite artists play at concerts, and sharing music. The purpose of this game is to put the players in the middle of all this and letting them be their DJs and headliners while being able to share their performances with the world.
