Fidget in Style with the Fidget Cube

-

Do you fidget a lot? Do people get annoyed at your mannerisms? Do you wish there was something you could do about it? If you answered yes to all of the questions then, you’re reading the right article: Introducing the Fidget Cube by Antsy Labs!

It was made to change the view of fidgeting as a bad habit. Fidgeting has been described as unprofessional and anti-intellectual behavior by the majority. Although, a lot of studies show that fidgeting proves to be the opposite of this.

Everyone fidgets, maybe a few times every day. Whether you’re tapping your foot, playing with your clothing, or bouncing your knee up and down, you do fidget! So, I’m sure everyone would enjoy this toy as much as people who fidget themselves consciously.

The Fidget Cube has six different functions: Click, Glide, Flip, Breathe, Roll, and Spin.

Click now prevents you from fidgeting with your pen and annoying your co-workers. It consists of 5 clickable buttons. 3 are audible for when you are alone, and the 2 are silent for sneaky fidgeting.

Glide is perfect for gamers who just can’t focus. It gives you the exact same feel of a joystick and smoothly moves along with your thumb. But you don’t have to be a gamer to enjoy the gliding action on this side.

Flip consists of a switch-like mechanism that you can press back and forth. Whether it be with two fingers or just one. You can flip it slowly for a silent fidget or quickly for a more audible click.

Breathe was inspired by traditional worry stones from folk cognitive behavior therapy. It consists of a smoothly carved surface with an indentation for your thumb. A great spot to feel that helps reduce anxiety.

Roll consists of two kinds of things you can play with. First, are three tactile gears you can roll all at once or just by one and second, is a silver ball that has a built-in click.

Spin has a dial that can satisfy your craving for a circular fidget. This feature tries to imitate the fidgeting done on key rings.

The Fidget Cube was made to look good on anyone’s desk or anyone using it. It comes in 10 different colors that can match your style. So, you see, this toy isn’t just for the people who fidget but can also help people with anxiety or those that haven’t even realized they fidget yet.

I think it’s a great project and a great purpose to stop fidgeting being viewed negatively. They successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign and managed to get more than 150,000 backers to support them with more than $6m.

Go on ahead and preorder the Fidget Cube now. They are going to be available for $22. Tell me what you think about this desk toy in the comments below!

Editorial notice: There have been claims by Jerry Snee Jr., that this product idea was stolen from Squidget Inc. We are currently waiting for the statement from Antsy Labs in regards to this claim and the patent situation. As the comment by Jerry Snee Jr. was written in an inappropriate tone, it was removed from the comments. (22-December)
Update: We heard back from Antsy Labs and they confirmed that they are the only legit source of the Fidget Cube. All other “shops” are either selling copies or simply won’t ship anything at all. More information can be found here. (23-December)
