With the growing market in various video channels, digital creators try to come up with unique and relatable content for their viewers. They will have to consider having good editing skills and excellent sound to create quality videos.

Elgato (Corsair) just released their newest microphone, the Elgato Wave:3 microphone. This is its first-ever USB microphone that caters to gamers, streamers, podcasters, and vloggers.

Design and features

With its black, matte finish, you can’t help but fall in love with this sophisticated microphone. The Wave:3 comes with a built-in stand with a padded base. While it has a steel grille, a portion of the mic is made out of plastic which makes it lightweight and portable.

On the front side of the mic is a multi-functional button for adjusting the mic or audio mix, headphone volume, etc. This can be seen through the LED lights on the face of the Wave:3. The back has a USB-C plug and a 3.5mm headphone output while up top is a capacitive mute button that silently disengages mic input.

Inside the Wave:3 is a condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and a pop filter to make sure that no unnecessary sound would be captured in the audio. The mic has a 24-bit resolution and a maximum sample rate of 96kHz, which provides that crystal clear sound. For moments where you get a little bit excited, Wave:3 soothes the sound waves with its Clipguard technology that only allows a maximum of 115 decibels. This prevents the fluctuation of the volume while streaming or recording.

The mic also comes with a software called Wave Link for audio control. It can accommodate up to 9 audio channels, making a recording or mixing a live stream of one’s voice blend with any background music or sound effects easier. If you’re planning to invest in good streaming gear, the Wave:3 will definitely give you more bang for your buck at $159.99.
