-

In the featured video below, ‘The Sound of Sorting,’ Timo Bingmann, from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) at the time, now working for eBay, showcases 15 sorting algorithms in a six-minute long video clip. It’s like video game music for data geeks – enjoy!

What is a sorting algorithm good for?

In a more detailed blog post about ‘The Sound of Sorting,’ Bingmann explains, “Sorting algorithms are an¬†essential chapter in undergraduate computer science education. Due to their easy to explain nature and fairly straight-forward analysis, this set of algorithms offers a convenient introduction to the methods and techniques of theoretical computer science and algorithm analysis.”
