Logitech keeps proving itself in the field of technological innovations that have relevant utilization opportunities. Therefore it’s no wonder they brought us another one. This new product is called Logitech Crayon, a digital pencil designed for iPad 6th generation, with potential application in K-12 classrooms, as well as in business and leisure.
Innumerable possibilities with the Logitech Crayon
It looks and feels like your any ordinary pen, yet hides immense possibilities. It is a versatile, pixel-precise digital pencil. The pen works with a wide array of educational apps that support Apple Pencil output, so it’s perfect for use in the classroom.
Logitech Crayon is as precise and responsive as a regular pen, and you can do everything with it as you do with a traditional pen. You can write, draw, design, explain, point… the possibilities are endless. So if your business incorporates any of the said activities, Logitech Crayon could be perfect for you.
If you’re worried your hand might leave a trace on the iPad and interfere with the design, don’t be. iPad itself is designed to reject any touch that doesn’t come from an appropriate pen, Logitech Crayon included.
But how will I adjust the tiny details, such as line weight and shadowing, you ask? Easily. Just do what you would do with any pen. Draw away and the smart tip of the pen will adjust those details according to the angle you place it down. So it’s just like drawing and writing with a pen on a piece of paper.
Logitech Crayon could be very popular among designers, architects, managers, etc. as it removes the need for paper and makes it easier to show to other people your ideas and emphasize certain details. It allows you to take notes, sketch diagrams, you name it.
Just turn on the pen by pressing the ‘on’ button and you’re good to go.
Technical characteristics of the Logitech Crayon
Its flat shape allows it to stay in place and not roll off the desk, so you don’t have to worry about losing it. Its parts are pry-resistant (you can only remove the smart tip with a special tool) and replaceable.
With the height of 6.5 inches (163 mm), the width of 0.5 in (12 mm), depth of 0.3 in (8 mm), and weight of just 0.7 oz (20 g), Logitech Crayon is hardly cumbersome and fits into any hand.
Charging it is very simple and quick. Only two minutes of charging gives you as much as 30 minutes of battery life. A fully charged Logitech Crayon lithium battery will last almost seven hours before you’ll need to re-charge it. The battery life indicator is available upon short press on the ‘on/off’ button.
If there’s more than 10% of battery life left, the indicator light will be green. If the battery goes under 10%, the light will be red. The LED light will blink red if there’s less than 5% of battery life left. Crayon uses a standard lighting cable for charging and shuts off automatically after 30 minutes of idle time. Logitech Crayon comes with a price tag of $69.99.
