Building Your Own Smart Mirror with a Raspberry Pi [Video]

-

Ever wanted to smart-pimp your home on a DIY base? With controllers, sensors, and computers are becoming increasingly affordable for DIY projects, you can actually work on your own IoT smart home tech geek paradise. In this video, the crew from Hacker House shows you how to build a smart mirror yourself using a Raspberry Pi.

The mirror shows you essential information about your environment and data from whatever other sensors you hook up and configure. Use a humidity and temperature sensor to display not only internet based weather data but actual readings from inside your home. Don’t want to spend so much power? Hook up a proximity sensor to kickstart the display inside the smart mirror only when someone is near. You design it, you build it! Check out their post for a full overview of required parts. Cool!
