Emergency systems are in place to ensure public safety and well-being. Every call and minute matters in ensuring a person’s safety in times of natural disasters and emergencies. According to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch, over 70% of 911 calls can make a difference. While being a dispatcher can be challenging, one emergency call can be vital in saving a person’s life. To expand its global public safety technology, US-based Axon announced its definitive agreement with Carbyne to improve the process of responding to an emergency situation.
Merging efforts for collective resource and response
Following the acquisition of Prepared and the newly announced agreement to bring Carbyne into its portfolio, Axon is setting the stage for Axon 911. Axon is known for solutions that help law enforcement, local governments, and the like to protect citizens. Meanwhile, Carbyne helps emergency teams by providing instant access to real-time data, live video, multilingual transcription and translation, and intelligent tools.
Rick Smith, Axon Founder and CEO, shares that “Axon’s 30-year legacy of innovation with Carbyne’s cloud-based call management platform [closes] that gap, giving call takers and dispatchers instant visibility and connecting them directly to officers in the field.” With Axon’s expertise in public safety technologies and Carbyne’s AI-powered cloud-based platform for emergency responders, they aim to change how lives are saved from the moment a call is received. The solution is designed to unify real-time intelligence, situational awareness, and response coordination.
Accurate information is vital
Providing accurate and complete information in cases of emergencies is vital in the response and rescue procedure. With better infrastructure, responders will be able to better pinpoint a caller’s location, see more, and act quickly. Axon and Carbyne’s collaboration is expected to be finalized in early 2026, pending standard customary closing conditions. More than a business partnership, this merger signifies faster emergency response and public safety, one call at a time.
