Dr. Paul E. Jacobs is a good example on how to be technically knowledgeable and be an excellent leader. Being born as a son of a founder of Qualcomm, some might presume that he earned his positions on the basis of family economics. This view however is not appropriate as he achieved a lot in his time at the University of California and registered a lot of great ideas as patents during his time in the development group of Qualcomm. In leadership positions he was awarded with a lot of recognition, the last was in 2014 being added to the highest rated CEOs on Glassdoor based on employee surveys.
