Warner Bros Games and DC Revealed New Suicide Squad Game During DC FanDome

-

These past few months, big events like the San Diego Comic-Con had to be canceled and streamed online due to the ongoing pandemic. Meanwhile, others have opened up opportunities to bring newer events to the fans virtually. For DC, they’ve decided to organize a 2-day virtual event called the DC FanDome.

This is also when Warner Bros Games announced the new game called Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The game is being developed by Rocksteady Studios, the creators of the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series.

Introducing the squad

The DC Universe’s clown princess of crime, Harley Quinn, formerly Dr. Harleen Quinzel, becomes an entrepreneur and member of several teams of super-villains after breaking up with the Joker. This time, she will be a part of the infamous Suicide Squad, officially known as Task Force X, to fight the DC Comics superheroes, the Justice League.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

The announcement trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League introduces us to the team which also includes Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. DC’s most lethal marksman Deadshot’s real name is Floyd Lawton and is one of the founding members of the squad. Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang is an Aussie assassin. Meanwhile, Nanaue, the King Shark, is a demigod humanoid shark.

Right off the bat, the Suicide Squad is a wild and eclectic bunch. To keep them in check, their heads are implanted with explosives, making them duty-bound to follow the orders of Amanda Waller, a government bureaucrat who heads the team. As the title suggests, the order is to go after members of the Justice League. Sounds like fun.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League can be played solo or up to four players in an online co-op. Each squad member has their unique moves, and users can switch characters accordingly. The game is set in Metropolis, which makers say is a richly detailed open world that can be freely explored. The game is slated to be released in 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
