Solatube: Let There Be Natural Daylight in Your Home

-

Pure natural light in every dark corner of your house, including your closet and/or laundry room, used to be inconceivable. Not anymore. Solatube® is the name of the company that has brought a creative solution to this age-old problem.

Solatube daylighting system: More than you’d think

Using tubular daylighting technologies, like Raybender® 3000 and LightTracker Reflector, Solatube wants to bring light to your entire house. We’re talking about a daylight catching dome lens and integrated reflector that work together for this purpose.

You’re probably wondering what happens at night. Don’t worry. Solatube’s technology does not depend on the time of the day. Nor year, for that matter, so long dark winter months should not be your concern.

In fact, Solatube’s Integrated Solar Electric Module generates and stores energy via a photovoltaic panel to power the smart NightLight. The NightLight automatically comes on at night.

Another technology that plays the part in this lighting system is Spectralight® Infinity Tubing. It transfers 99.7% of captured light through tubes made of the world’s most reflective material. This material helps to maintain brightness, even around corners.

And don’t worry about all these technologies looking horribly mechanical. Its creators designed the system with style and aesthetics in mind. Therefore it provides maximum visual comfort with various levels of brightness. Or dimness, if you choose it as an add-on.

Not only that, decorative fixtures available for your home or office vary in design almost as much as any other kind of light fixture. So you have round and square ones in various designs. Additional options include ventilation and smart nighttime lighting, as mentioned above.

Solatube’s technical details

Solatube’s daylighting systems come equipped with tubular devices different in terms of width – 160 DS and 290 DS. This means that they are 10 inches (25.4 cm) and 14 inches (35.5 cm) wide, respectively. As for lengths, they can go up to 30 feet (9.14 meters).

To accommodate various tube widths, Solatube Daylighting Systems have domes in different sizes, as well. It is possible to mount the domes on any type of roof. Wondering about the price? Just ask Solatube for details.
