Robomart and PIX Moving Offer Self-Driving Retail Stores

-

Retail has had different changes since its integration with technology, from contactless shopping to having assistant robots in-store. Another change is coming its way in the form of self-driving mobile retail stores. Robomart pioneered the concept of store hailing for mobile convenience stores a few years ago. Recently, the company has collaborated with PIX Moving to introduce autonomous mobile retail stores to the market.

The two companies have come together to enhance the idea of mobile retail stores. This collaboration will utilize PIX Moving’s Spaces, the company’s autonomous vehicle, with Robomart’s smart shops without any human assistance. People from California can soon experience some quick service from autonomous ice cream parlors, cafes, and even restaurants.

Unmanned mobile retail

Robomart is working hard to change the face of retail with innovative technology for a cost-effective solution. Imagine that a grocery store — or any retail store for that matter — comes to you instead of the other way around. The mobile retail store simplifies the entire process of order, pick-up, and checkout. Your customers can simply “hail” a vehicle from the actual location of the store and get whatever they are looking for.

The mobile retail store has a proprietary checkout-free system, temperature-controlled compartments, sensors for self-service operation, and external cameras to ensure security. Its patented platform is powered with a software suite that enables retailers to operate their mobile stores without sales staff. Additionally, it has a management tool that can track the store’s incoming orders, access the logs, and view camera feeds, all in real time.

Top features

The mobile retail store’s design comes from PIX Moving. Its chassis enables the flexible configuration of functions and end-use from the get-go. Retailers can customize the compartments, optimizing specific needs such as size and temperature control. Mobile grocery stores and big restaurant chains can run a business on wheels.

CEO of Robomart, Ali Ahmed, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. He says that “PIX Moving’s contribution to vehicle manufacturing, combined with our robust retail technology, will redefine convenience and accessibility in retail.” In addition, he shares that it will start to be phased into the fleet by the end of 2025. Major customers like Ben & Jerry’s, Mars, Fatty Mart, and others have sealed the deal for over 100 of Robomart’s mobile retail stores.
