The way we meet new people has changed over the years. In this digital age, meeting new people has been made easier through the Internet. From social media to dating sites, it’s almost impossible to run out of apps and sites to widen your circle of friends or find a potential partner. During the pandemic, the number of people using dating apps has increased. Nowadays, just a tap on our smartphones can garner us a couple of friends, like The Breakfast app.
As the name suggests, The Breakfast app lets you meet people over breakfast. While physical contact and face-to-face meet-ups still trump virtual ones, apps like this certainly help to break the ice. Being a huge breakfast lover myself, this app certainly sounds interesting. And while crimes choose no time of day, it certainly helps to meet strangers on the Internet in broad daylight – with a lot of people around– than during nighttime.

Meeting over breakfast
The Breakfast app, which is available for download on both iOS and Android, lets you set up your profile according to your preferences. Once you have decided to meet people, just select the city you are in, and the app matches you with others based on your given information. Take note that only one chance is given to users per day. Once matched, you have 24 hours to initiate a conversation with the person and arrange a meeting. Otherwise, the opportunity to do so expires.

One thing to remember is that The Breakfast app is not marketed as a dating app. Instead, it’s for you to meet people to strike a friendship or bond over your mutual love for breakfast, among other things. At the moment, the app has launched in Europe and is coming to the US. It is also subscription-based, so you’ll need to shell out money to participate.
Although it might be worth trying out, take caution since you are meeting someone you don’t know. Always make sure to tell your peers or family that you are meeting someone and be aware of your surroundings. Safety must always be the top priority, no matter how sumptuous that breakfast buffet sounds.
