Bags are essential to carry whatever we need for the day. For some scenarios, like a social event or a business meeting, that function could extend to completing a certain look. For instance, fashion enthusiasts carrying a stylish and luxurious handbag is a statement in itself. We’ve seen our share of fashion tech over the past few years, and adding to the market is France-based Peuty with its launch of Infinity, a handbag that can change its design.
It’s in the bag
Peuty’s Infinity smart handbag with an OLED screen was among this year’s CES exhibitors. This isn’t the first time the bag has made an appearance in an event; in 2024, it won the Silver Medal at the Concours Lépine. The smart handbag was created using full-grain leather with stainless steel hardware.

The main tech of the Infinity bag is obviously in the OLED display which can be customized into patterns or colors using the Peuty accompanying mobile app for Android and iOS. A protective layer covers the OLED display, giving it a soft, natural feel that blends seamlessly into the bag. Since the OLED doesn’t need a backlight, the screen stays very slim and light. It fits smoothly into the leather, retaining the stylish form of the bag. Apart from that, the bag is made of waterproof and scratch-resistant material, making it practical for everyday use. Users can wirelessly charge the bag, though it promises an all-day battery life. Meanwhile, the screen is energy-saving, drawing power only when the image updates or changes.
Carrying your own canvas
Beyond the tech, Infinity promotes eco-friendly fashion by cutting down the need for many bags with a bag that can change its cosmetic look. Users can change the display to preset options in the app, showcase their own designs, or choose from exclusive pieces by contemporary artists and designers. Founder and designer Richard Peuty describes this bag as “turn[ing] a handbag into a living canvas.”
The Infinity bag is available in three colors: snow white, midnight black, and dune beige. For now, the bag is available as a Kickstarter campaign and, as of this writing, has gathered a bit more than $16,500 from pledges. It has a long way to go before it reaches its goal, but there are still a few more days before the campaign ends. Pre-orders start at a super early bird price of $799.
