Intel has released its recent addition to the NUC lineup the NUC 13 Pro, also known by the code name ‘Arena Canyon’. For those unfamiliar with this term, the word NUC stands for Next Unit of Computing. It is a series of mini PC produced by Intel, which is often used as thin clients for companies who use virtual computers instead of managing fat clients. NUC 13 pro uses Intel’s new 13th gen Raptor Lake processors. It comes in 5 variants with different processors. There are two models. The slim one is 37 mm and the tall one is 54 mm thick. It supports up to 64 GB DDR4 Ram and a PCIe 4 M.2 SSD. The storage in the thicker model can be expanded with a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD.
NUC 13 Pro brings a performance boost over the previous models
Intel NUC 13 pro has two Thunderbolt 4 ports at the back panel. It also houses Two HDMI display ports, a 2.5 GbE Ethernet port that uses Intel i226-LM technology, a USB 3.2 Gen2 type A port, a USB 2.0 port, and a port for power supply. Looking at the front panel, you’ll find the power button, two USB 3.2 Gen2 type A ports, 3.5mm front stereo headset jack.

The tall models can be expanded to support one more Ethernet connection and two additional USB 2.0 ports. NUC 13 pro uses Iris XE on the core i5 and i7 variants and Intel UHD graphics on the core i3 version. It can display at up to 4k resolution on 4 monitors. Intel NUC 13 pro stands out from the previous models and other mini PCs in the market because of its huge performance boost and very low power demand.
The variant with an Intel Core i7-1370P processor can reach up to 5.2 GHz clock speed, which is a great feat for a mini PC. But the most outstanding thing is NUC 13 does it with a TDP of only 20 watts. The Raptor Lake processors have two types of cores in them. Namely the P-cores (performance cores), and E-cores, (efficient cores). Last year, Intel introduced P-cored and E-cores in their 12th-generation processors.
Eco-friendly production and recycling
Intel proudly claims that the products and packaging of the NUC lineup are produced with recycled plastics. They claim to recycle 99.5% of returned products. Also, recycled plastic was used to make the chassis of the NUC PC. It is a great step in fighting the growing environmental risk of E-waste.

Intel NUC 13 pro is available in the market with a price range of $340 to $1,080 depending on the configuration. Aside from the prebuilt NUCs, a board version or the bare-bone version is available. This version only comes with the board and the processor. So, it can be customized with the user’s memory, storage, and operating system.
